This Privacy Policy explains how the Marian iOS application ("Marian", "the app", "we", or "our") handles information when you use the app.
Marian does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal information for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.

Deleting Marian removes the app's locally stored data from your device. Purchase records associated with your Apple Account are maintained separately by Apple and may be used to restore eligible purchases.
Marian's prayer content is designed to work without an internet connection. The Holy Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Holy Wounds Chaplet, prayer texts, mysteries, and other core prayer content are included within the app.
An internet connection may still be required for services provided by Apple, such as purchasing or restoring Marian Patron through the App Store, and for optional features that open external content, such as Today's Readings.
Marian includes an optional "Today's Readings" feature that opens the day's Catholic Mass readings from Universalis, a third-party website, in an in-app browser (Safari) provided by iOS.
To show readings appropriate to your part of the world, Marian selects the correct Universalis page using your device's Region setting. This selection happens on your device; your region is not collected, transmitted, or stored by Marian.
When you open Today's Readings, you are viewing a third-party website that is not operated by Marian. That website has its own privacy policy and terms, and, like any website you visit, it may receive standard technical information such as your device's IP address and browser type. You can review Universalis's privacy policy at universalis.com/privacy.htm. Marian does not control and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites.
Marian does not share your prayer history, statistics, intentions, or other app data with Universalis or any other third-party website.
Marian does not display advertisements and does not use third-party advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics services.
Marian does not track you across apps or websites.
Marian Patron is available through in-app purchases processed by Apple using StoreKit.
Marian Patron may be purchased through either a recurring 3-month subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Apple processes payments and manages transaction information associated with your Apple Account. Marian does not receive your credit card number, banking information, or other payment credentials.
The app may receive information from StoreKit indicating whether a valid Marian Patron purchase or subscription is active so that Patron features can be unlocked.

Marian Patron users may choose to enable prayer reminders.
If you enable reminders, Marian requests permission to send notifications through iOS. Reminder schedules are stored on your device and are used to deliver the reminders you configure.
You can change notification permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Marian Patron allows you to enter prayer intentions for use during prayer and with certain reminder features.
Prayer intentions remain stored locally on your device. Marian does not receive, review, transmit, or store your prayer intentions on an external server.
Marian Patron includes optional Home Screen widgets that can display information such as prayer streaks.
Information required by Marian's widgets is stored locally on your device and shared only between the Marian app and its widget extension through Apple's local app storage mechanisms.
Marian does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising or behavioral tracking.

Because Marian's prayer data and preferences remain on your device, their protection depends in part on the security protections provided by iOS and your device.
We recommend keeping iOS up to date and protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID where available.
Marian does not maintain a user account or remote database containing your prayer history, intentions, statistics, or preferences.
You can remove Marian's locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.
Subscriptions and purchase history are managed by Apple through your Apple Account and the App Store.
Marian may be available in multiple countries and languages. We aim to respect applicable privacy laws wherever the app is offered.
Because Marian does not operate user accounts, advertising systems, analytics services, or a remote database containing your prayer activity, Marian generally has very limited access to information about its users.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Marian changes or as legal and platform requirements change.
When this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
